Questions

What people ask before they book

What is the shoe cover thing?

It is how every visit starts. Shoe covers at the door, a runner from the door to the work, tools on a mat and a vacuum at the end. You should be able to tell we were there only by what works.

What does a visit cost?

A repair is one flat price, on your written ticket before work starts. For a bigger job we look around first. If that look has a set fee, we tell you when you book, and it comes off the work if you go ahead.

Do you pull permits?

Where the work needs one, yes. Your ticket says who files it and what the fee is, and the fee is passed through at cost.

Will my power be off?

For most repairs only the circuit we are working on, and we tell you before we switch anything off. A panel change takes the house off for part of a day, and we plan it with you.

Do you work nights and weekends?

We work weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday mornings by appointment. We don't run a night line. For a fire, call 911. If it is safe, turn off the breaker, then call us in the morning.

Are you insured?

Ask when you book and we email the certificate before the visit.

How long does a visit take?

A repair is often an hour or two. We give you the window when you book, and tell you if the look turns up something bigger.

Do you take photos in my house?

Of the work and what's behind the cover, to show you. We don't photograph your belongings, and the photos stay with the job record.

What if I don't want the work after the quote?

Then we tidy up and leave. If a look-around had a set fee, it was named when you booked.
